Steloolive
Steloolive is a Ghanaian-born sound and performance artist whose presence is as impressive as his music. He combines his technology-independent sonic experiments with a striking visual identity, foregrounding the interplay of sound, image, and persona. He regularly combines electronic and acoustic instruments with everyday objects and found sounds, incorporating rhythmic structures from various Ghanaian musical influences.
His talent earned him recognition on prestigious stages worldwide: the Donaueschingen Music Festival, Skulptur Projekte Münster, Design Indaba in Cape Town, Tokyo – and even a concert at Adidas headquarters. His collaboration with Ensemble Recherche in Freiburg solidified his position in the global music scene.
Hauke Dorsch
Hauke Dorsch is the academic director of the Archive for African Music (AMA) and teaches at the ifeas at the University of Mainz. His research focuses on African music in transnational contexts, migration and integration processes, and cultural-historical relations between Africa and its diaspora. He is also committed to making African music accessible to a wider public – through concerts, workshops, exhibitions, DJ sets, and media.
